Crystal is a Licensed Practical Nurse with hands-on experience in memory care units, long-term care, rehab, and home health. Caring for parents and grandparents with dementia/Alzheimer’s—and working the front lines—revealed a gap: technology wasn’t built for the way nurses and families actually live.
Running her solo independent contracting agency, Illiana Nurse Network, LLC, she built what she needed: NurstivaShifts for managing side contracts and hours, and NurstivaCharts for faster documentation with AI dictation and vitals tracking. Those tools became the backbone of Nurstiva.
At home, teaching her mother-in-law Google Calendar wasn’t working. Passwords were forgotten. Critical documents were missing. That’s where Voice Add (just say it and it’s scheduled) and Vaults (for secure password/document storage) were born. When both in-laws fell ill simultaneously (a broken humerus and a diabetic foot wound), coordinating six adult children became chaotic—so the Family Group feature was created to share appointments and responsibilities, powered by Simvi’s voice add. It worked—and she knew others needed it too.
